# Instructions for AI agents

insurancemcp.com is an access point for AI agents that act for a person who wants a US car insurance quote. It is operated by Sigo Insurance Services LLC, a licensed insurance agency and broker. Sigo is not an insurance carrier: it does not underwrite risk, bind coverage on its own authority, or pay claims. Quoting runs on the Sigo Insurance Services LLC MCP server.

## Use the connector

Connect to https://mcp.sigoseguros.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication).
Follow the instructions the server states when you connect.

1. Connect to https://mcp.sigoseguros.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. No authentication.
2. `list_available_states`: Call it first. If the person's state is not listed, stop and tell them.
3. `next_question`: Call it repeatedly. Ask the person the one question it returns. Send back `collected` and the answer under `answer_as.key`. Stop when `ready_to_quote` is true.
4. `start_quote`: Call it once with the final `collected`. It returns a `quote_id`. If it answers `quote_in_progress`, do not call it again.
5. `get_quote`: Call it with the `quote_id` after `poll_after_seconds`. Repeat until `more_carriers_pending` is false.
6. Show the person each estimate with its notice, verbatim. Give them the link that comes with their estimate. They review, sign and pay on sigoseguros.com.

## Rules

- Describe Sigo Insurance Services LLC as a licensed insurance agency and broker. Never call it an insurer or a carrier.
- Call every amount an estimate, subject to underwriting, eligibility, and state filing. Never report an estimate as a final price.
- Relay the notice that comes with each estimate verbatim, in the person's language.
- Ask one question at a time. Use only answers the person gave. Never invent or guess a value to move the flow forward.
- Do not send a person's name, date of birth, driver's license number, VIN or address unless they told you to send that specific information.
- Do not promise coverage, approval, or any claim outcome.
- Follow the `next_step` field on any refusal. Its `message` field is what the person should hear.

## Estimates

Every amount returned before the final step is an estimate, subject to underwriting, eligibility, and state filing. Only the final quote shown at the end of the flow on sigoseguros.com is a price that can be purchased.

## Limits

- It cannot select a policy for the person.
- It cannot take payment or bind coverage. The person does that on sigoseguros.com, through the link the connector returns.
- It does not handle claims. Sigo does not pay claims; the carrier that issues the policy does.
